1. Information needed to use the app
Location information is used to display your current location, provide navigation, and search for routes and nearby facilities. Vehicle information, travel plans, stops, history, favorites, and settings entered by the user are stored on the device. Information such as the initial trial start date and time is also stored in the device’s Keychain and may remain after the app is reinstalled.
Maps, routes, and facility searches use Apple MapKit, OpenPOI API, OpenStreetMap-related services, and other services. Search terms, coordinates, and communication information needed for processing may be sent to these services. There is no feature that aggregates this information on the operator’s own servers. Each provider handles information according to its own policies.
2. Advertising and Google AdMob
The iPhone and iPad versions without a purchase may display Google AdMob banner ads during and after the initial trial. Ads are not displayed when a purchase entitlement is verified. Google Mobile Ads SDK and User Messaging Platform (UMP) are used to receive ads.
Google’s SDKs may collect and process the following information for ad delivery, measurement, analytics, fraud prevention, and quality improvement.
- IP address and the approximate location inferred from it.
- Device and app identifiers, and communication and device information such as model and operating system.
- Ad impressions and interactions, and app and ad usage.
- Crashes, performance, and other diagnostic information.
The app requests non-personalized ads and disables the publisher first-party ID. Non-personalized ads still involve data processing needed for delivery, measurement, and related purposes. Navigation GPS coordinates, destinations, routes, and vehicle settings are not attached to ad requests and sent to Google. This is distinct from inferring approximate location from an IP address.

3. Consent and choices
Where applicable by region and circumstances, UMP is used to obtain consent and privacy choices. To change your choices where necessary, use the ad privacy settings shown in the app’s settings. This option may not appear in regions where displaying it is not required. You can change location permissions in your iPhone or iPad settings. Perform detailed operations and interact with consent screens while stopped in a safe place.
4. Purchases and subscriptions
Apple processes purchases, billing, and renewals. Through StoreKit, the app checks product information, verified transactions, and subscription status to determine available features and ad display. The operator does not obtain your Apple ID password or card number. Cancel or manage subscriptions in Apple’s subscription settings. The initial seven-day on-device trial requires no purchase and does not result in automatic charges.
5. Inquiries and the website
Contact details, inquiry content, and device or version information sent with inquiries are used to respond. Do not send passwords or payment information. No advertising or traffic analytics scripts have been added to this developer website, but the hosting provider may process communication and operational logs, including IP addresses.
6. Storage, deletion, and third-party handling
Information saved in the app can be deleted using the corresponding history, itinerary, or settings deletion controls. The initial trial record in Keychain may remain after normal app deletion. Retention periods, deletion, and processing abroad for information processed by Google, Apple, and external services follow each provider’s policies. Inquiries received by the operator are retained for the period needed to respond; information no longer needed is deleted. For deletion and related inquiries, use the support contact below.
7. Security, changes, and contact
We strive to apply appropriate security measures when handling information. Important changes will be announced on this website, in the app, or on the App Store. Road and facility information does not guarantee that travel or use is safe.

8. Companion location sharing (iCloud / CloudKit)
Only when you agree in the app to start sharing and designate the other person in Apple’s private sharing interface does the app save your latest precise location, GPS measurement date and time, location accuracy, sharing expiration time, and the name shown to the other person in Apple CloudKit, and display them to people who have joined the invitation. Installing the app, granting location permission, or joining another person’s sharing alone does not send your own location. For mutual display, each user must start sharing and join the invitation.
Both people must sign in with their respective iCloud accounts. iCloud user, record, and shared-zone identifiers are used to manage sharing recipients and detect account changes. The operator does not obtain Apple ID passwords. CamperNav and CamperNav Go use a common CloudKit container, but do not publish locations in a public database; sharing is viewable only by invited people. Shared locations and display names are not attached to ad requests and are not used for advertising tracking or effectiveness measurement.
You can choose a sharing period of 1, 4, or 8 hours. In updates supporting background updates, if you review the explanation when starting sharing or joining an invitation and turn on “Update sharing even when the screen is closed,” updates continue within the agreed period while the screen is locked, the app is in the background, or CarPlay is in use. The device’s location services are also used to continue receiving updates, but your own location is not sent unless you start sharing it. iOS may display a location-use indicator. Communication is attempted approximately every 30 seconds, but OS, network, and GPS conditions may cause delays or interruptions; updates cannot continue after the app is force-quit or the device is powered off. With this setting off, and in older versions, updates occur only while the app is displayed. Locations are hidden from the map in the other person’s app once 120 seconds have passed since measurement or the sharing period has expired. The app updates the latest location record and does not create companion location history records. Sharing-management identifiers, display names, and pending-deletion status are stored on the device; a history of received companion coordinates is not stored.
“Stop and delete my location sharing” stops transmission and attempts to delete the dedicated sharing data in CloudKit. “Remove this person / leave sharing” lets you leave the sharing on the receiving side. Without a connection, server-side deletion cannot be completed, so pending deletion is shown and retried after connectivity is restored. The sharing expiration time controls transmission and display in the app; it does not guarantee that CloudKit servers delete data at the exact expiration time. After a force-quit or during an extended offline period, the last shared data may remain until the next connection. Location transmission does not resume automatically after restarting. Information already seen or images saved by the other person cannot be retracted.
9. External services in CamperNav Go
The Go version uses Google Maps SDK, Google Navigation SDK, Google Routes API, Google Geocoding, and other services. For map display, guidance, address searches, and route searches, search terms, the visible map area, coordinates of origins, destinations, waypoints or the current location, and selected route conditions are sent to Google as needed. The SDKs may process device and app identification information, usage information, diagnostics, performance information, and similar data. Communication destinations differ from those of the Apple Maps version. Companion coordinates from CloudKit are also used to display markers on the Go version’s Google map.
Supplementary facility and road information uses OpenPOI, OpenStreetMap / Overpass, and similar services; weather and elevation reference information uses the Japan Meteorological Agency, Geospatial Information Authority of Japan, Open-Meteo, and similar services. Necessary search terms, coordinates of the target area, tile numbers, and communication information may be sent to the respective providers. Coordinates used to check routes and restrictions are not always made approximate. There is no feature that automatically aggregates vehicle information, itineraries, favorites, or similar information on the operator’s own servers. If you share a file or external link, information is passed to the recipient or service you select.

10. Optional usage analytics in CamperNav Go (Firebase)
Supported updates of CamperNav Go offer optional usage analytics with Google Analytics for Firebase. It is off by default and starts only when you enable “Help with usage analytics” under “Menu → Settings → Usage analytics and privacy.” This is independent of advertising consent settings; declining analytics does not prevent you from using features covered by your subscription. This does not mean analytics is being added to the MapKit version.
When enabled, app usage counts and duration, app and device information, and an app-instance identifier for analytics are sent to Google. Approximate geographic information, such as country or region, may be processed from the source IP address. Aggregated usage and ad-delivery information is reviewed to improve usability. The app does not send GPS coordinates, destinations, routes, search terms, or companion names or sharing information as analytics events or user IDs. Automatic screen-name collection for analytics is disabled, the analytics SDK does not collect IDFA or IDFV, and consent for ad personalization is not granted. These controls do not stop data processing needed by separate services such as maps, route searches, or ad delivery.
Turning off the same setting stops subsequent usage analytics and resets on-device analytics data and the analytics app-instance identifier. This does not immediately delete aggregated information already sent to Google. Google’s retention, deletion, and processing abroad follow Google’s policies. Analytics is disabled during development and automated testing to avoid increasing production analytics counts. Ad-loading status and retry displays are for on-device checks and do not artificially increase ad impressions.
